Kinematograph Weekly, 6 July 1916 carried a small article on Dorothy Smalley:’Butcher’s Film Service, Ltd. – Many managers and others connected with the renting business are now leaving responsible positions to take up military duties. One of the most recent recruits is Mr. S. Mee, who has been in charge of the Exclusive Department of Butcher’s Film Service, Ltd. A lady takes his place in the person of Mrs. Dorothy Smalley, who has been on the staff of Camera House for the past twelve months. Mrs. Smalley is the wife of Lieut. P.F. Smalley, late of the Standard Feature Film Co., Ltd. and is already well known to most London exhibitors. We wish her every success in her new position.’
