Daughter of Sidney Morgan, Joan began acting at a young age and featured in many films directed by her father. Early titles include The Cup-Final Mystery (1941, Motograph Film Company, dir. Maurice Elvey), Iron Justice (1915, Renaissance Film, dir. Sidney Morgan), and The World’s Desire (1915, British & Colonial, dir. Sidney Morgan). As an adult, Joan took lead roles in films such as The Woman Tempted (1926, M. E. Productions, dir. Maurice Elvey) and is also credited with the scripts for The Alley Cat aka Nachtgelstaten, (1929, British and Foreign Films, dir. Hans Steinhoff) and several later sound productions. (NM)
